A common question our Events Coordinators have to answer is "what do you provide in terms of catering for the evening celebrations at a wedding?". The answer is always "we will work with you to design your own specific menu, but have a look at what we can offer".
We believe in both delicious produce as well as great presentation, evening food should have that "wow factor" as its delivered to your guests, it should complement your big day. The Sausage and Mash Company has designed and built a number of items that are eye catching and add charm to any occasion. From our vintage food truck, lovingly restored and named "Gumdrop" which can sit pride of place at any venue. Painted in vintage classic colours "Gumdrop" has a specially designed kitchen where evening food can be made and served from.
If you are after rustic food bars, we have plenty! Food can be served indoors or outside from our array of wooden bars, that are lit with vintage lighting frames and fit into any surrounding with style. The bars have been designed to wheel into any venue and are a great talking point as the evening celebrations unfold.
Don't forget we also have wooden drinks bars on offer as well, where our dedicated team can serve you and your guests with drinks of your choosing into the night!
Our wedding menu has been developed over the past 6 years, as we have seen what grabs the attention of guests at the vast amount of weddings we cater at. Combining these experiences we have put together food that always gets your attention, as its mouth watering and fun.
Take our newest addition to the items we hire out: Cilli con carne served cooked over a naked flame in a cauldron! Who does not like a heart warming chilli as the evening temperatures lower?! Complete with nachos, guacamole and sour cream, we simply add the spice to any wedding evening!
Guests can gather around the cooking pot as we serve such a delight fresh from the fire. Or even a chicken or vegetarian curry, again cooked over a flame, adding drama to your wedding celebrations!
Then there is our array of sausages, famous to The Sausage and Mash Company. Tuck into our locally sourced Wiltshire sausages with at least three flavours to choose from at any wedding, including Pork and Leek, Onion Marmalade and Pork or for the more adventurous Chilli and Pork! Placed into a soft roll with relish or as a Sausage casserole, we will tickle your taste buds!
The menu goes on.... from chips in cones or British bacon in baps or perhaps our eye catching cheeseboards, loaded with goodness and certainly a talking point at any event.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Wellington Barn in Wiltshire, on a warm August day, the wedding of Jennifer and Jerry took place.
The sun shone on the guests and the happy couple after a local church ceremony was followed by reception drinks and assorted canapés served on the patio at the barn. The staff of the Sausage and Mash Company served freshly made selections of canapés including petit Yorkshire puddings with beef fillet and horseradish sauce, Mango chicken with basil and Goats cheese and red onion focaccia amounts other delightful canapés on offer.
After an array of stunning photographs had been taken, making use of the scenic backdrop that Wellington Barn has to offer, the guests were treated to a main course of assorted pies, including Steak and real ale, Chicken, ham and leek and Wild mushroom with asparagus and white wine sauce. All these delicious pies were served with creamy mash, farmhouse gravy infused with red wine and vegetables served in kilner jars. The barn tables were set with a yellow sunflower theme which matched the colour of bridesmaids dresses, every detail of this glorious Wiltshire wedding had been finely designed and prepared to perfection.
The Sausage and Mash Company chefs produced two desserts, Apple crumble and cinnamon with custard and cream and the classic Chocolate brownie with ice cream and fresh fruit. Fair-trade tea and coffee followed the true Olympian style speeches that were fun filled and passionate.
With plenty of room to roam around, the guests took advantage of the beautiful weather and wandered in the meadows surrounding Wellington Barn.
As the evening celebrations commenced with plenty of music and dancing the award winning team from The Sausage and Mash Company provided locally sourced sausages in rolls, British bacon in baps and chunky chips in cones with relish. Evening food was served from stylish rustic food bars within Wellington Barn as the partying went on into the night.
Breakfast hampers were provided by the events catering company for guests staying in the luxury shepherd huts in the grounds of Wellington Barn.

Set in the beautiful village of Chichester, the wedding of Kate and Andrew transformed the village hall into a stunning reception for this happy couple.
The Sausage and Mash Company had worked closely with the bride and groom and a dedicated wedding planner to make sure their wedding went smoothly. After a church wedding guests returned to the historic hall for reception drinks and assorted canapés on the sweeping lawns, that over look the village cricket field. Petit Yorkshire puddings with beef and horseradish as well as mango infused chicken and basil were among the array of freshly prepared canapés.
The starter course consisted of mixed platters of British rare beef fillet on a bed of beetroot and goats cheese salad as well as fresh salmon and grapefruit.
The wedding breakfast consisted of a duo of Pork and Leek Sausages and Onion Marmalade Sausages, locally sourced and cooked to perfection! Creamy mash, chives, farmhouse gravy and vegetables accompanied the delicious sausages, a trade mark of The Sausage and Mash Company!
Desserts followed, with a mixture of apple crumble and cream as well as lemon possets and fruit. Again freshly made on site by the talented chefs and their amazing team of waiting staff.
Following the excitement of speeches, the catering team served Fair-trade coffee and tea with mints before the evening celebrations got underway!

The glorious wedding of Emily and Steve took place in the idyllic chaulke valley near Salisbury, Wiltshire. The wedding ceremony and reception was held at the stunning Bowerchaulke Barn, a large open thatched roof barn that was creatively decked out for this beautiful occasion.
The bride and groom married in the grounds of Bowerchaulke Barn in the open air, with the magnificent Wiltshire countryside as a backdrop as the ceremony played out, with guests seated on blanket covered hay bales, adding to the rustic charm.
An assortment of freshly hand-made canapes by The Sausage and Mash Company included Petit Yorkshire puddings filled with beef and horseradish, Mango infused chicken with basil and Goats cheese and red onion marmalade on rosemary focaccia commenced the reception proceedings, along with prosecco and elderflower drinks.
The main meal of assorted Pieminister pie platters were placed on decorative tables within the old barn, flavours included British steak and real ale pies, as well as Pumpkin, spinach, sweet potato and goats cheese pies. All served with smooth mash potato and complimented with farmhouse gravy and vegetables.
Guests indulged in The sausage and Mash Companies divine chocolate brownies as a dessert, complete with Madagascan ice cream and fruit.
After Fairtrade tea’s and coffees had been served complete with mint chocolates and speeches had taken place the wedding guests and happy couple picked up the tempo as the evening events unfolded. A live band produced amazing classic tunes as the wedding party danced late into the evening. The Sausage and Mash Company team operated the bar as drinks flowed including local ales and fine spirits too!
Evening food was produced from “Gumdrop” the wedding caterers trusted food truck, a classic vintage vehicle that graced the outside of this beautiful Wiltshire barn. Locally sourced sausages in rolls and Wiltshire chips kept the guests happy as darkness fell on this creative and happy wedding.
Emily and Steve and a majority of the guests retired to a number of beautiful Bell tents that had been put up in the farm field next to the barn, adding to the charm of this wonderful occasion.

A three course meal was hand prepared for the 120 guests followed by locally sourced evening food including our amazing cheeseboards complete with selection of hams and olives.
A truly beautiful venue complimented by a Happy bride and groom who enjoyed the delicious food The Sausage and Mash Company produced for them and their guests.

Evening food from gumdrop the food truck included assorted flavours of Wiltshire sausages in rolls and deluxe cheeseboards.
This year we aim to support this charity by proceeds of profit from each event plus
staff getting involved in the charity activities.
